MTGCombos.com, a combo search engine/forum dedicated to Magic The Gathering has added a link to OGTavern, which is nice. It is a young site, not a lot of members, but seems to have an active community. That's definitely important for a site to grow. A good friend of mine sent me a link to one of the most hilarious sites I've stumbled across in a long time: The Angry Video Game Nerd. A new year… last New Year’s Eve I remember standing on the docks of Booty Bay (World of Warcraft), staring out over the water, watching a firework display as the clocked ticked over into 2007. A true sign of an addiction is when you turn down real-world celebrations to play a game. Heh. This year I was dragged out of the house to celebrate without my computer in front of me. My problem with spammers seems to have been controlled. Any spammer can easily add a link one at a time, but that’s likely too much work, especially when the link will just be deleted in a day or so. So, at the time of this writing, OGTavern has a single link populating its database. I’d much rather have one actual link, rather than 100,000 links to porn. Everyone have a great 2008! |

The most frequent visitor to this site is a Spammer. Almost all of the links submitted are for porn sites, and are submitted at a rate of about one per minute. Interesting that spam is such a huge industry, that there are people other there who do nothing but find sites that accept links, then write a script specifically for that site to input links all day long. This wouldn't shock me, except for that fact that this site is very, very small, and as far as I know, there isn't a single link to it from another site. Perhaps every time someone registers a new domain, spammers visit the site and check to see if it is possible to submit links to the site. In any event, this site was being filled with thousands of spam links, so I added an image verification step. It's nothing fancy, but we'll see how effective it is at eliminating the spam. |

I am amazed by the number of spammers who will stumble on this site and load up the links page with links to their adult/drug based sites. Pathetic. Most of my game-time is still pumped into World of Warcraft. It is hard to move onto anything else when so many of your friends are hooked on it, constantly calling or e-mailing, asking you to come play. How can one resist so many invitations? Another game I spent many hours playing with a friend was Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. I've never put too much effort into these turn-based games, but this one definitely held my interest. AoW:SM was a great escape from WoW. |

This game looks amazing. I've been following it for a while, but just recently watched the Introduction movie and several of the gameplay videos. From what I've read, multiplayer co-op will be allowed, which is great. I love games like this where you can run around with friends and bash demons. Welcome to my blog. This is the first post of many to come. I am an avid gamer, and have been since I first touched a computer oh-so-many years ago. My current addiction is World of Warcraft, though I will admit I have experimented with just about every game on the market. The two upcoming games which appeal to me the most at this point are Startcraft 2 (/cheer) and Age of Conan. I have no set schedule as to how often I will post a new blog, just whenever the mood strikes, I'm sure. If something excites or irritates me, you can expect there to be a new post.
